Advancing our understanding of bone and joint disorders
The Institute of Bone and Joint Research (IBJR) was established in 1999 to provide an Institute devoted to advancing our understanding of the disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, their diagnosis and treatments. The IBJR is an institute without walls.
The research laboratories at the Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) campus are housed in the state-of-the-art Kolling Building, and we have clinical and other research units on the RNSH campus and other teaching hospitals at the University of Sydney.
National Osteoarthritis Strategy & 2018 Osteoarthritis Summit
The 2018 Osteoarthritis Summit was held at Hotel Realm, Canberra on 27th Nov 2018. The ABC’s multi-award winning producer and broadcaster, Dr. Norman Swan, facilitated the Summit. Many leading CEOs, CMOs, clinicians and academics from Arthritis Australia; Australian Government Department of Health; University of Sydney; Griffith University; University of Melbourne; Curtin University; Medibank Better Health Foundation, including The Hon Catherine King MP, Shadow Minister Health & Medicare and Ms Lisa Studdert, Acting Deputy Secretary, Department of Health addressed the conference Audience.

Northern Lights Musculoskeletal Showcase
The inaugural Northern Lights Musculoskeletal Showcase hosted by the Northern Sydney Local Health District was held on July 18th, 2019 in the Kolling Auditorium. This event showcased the amazing advances in research and innovation for back pain, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
